U.S. forces captured a former general in Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s once-feared security services, officers said on December 22, 2003, the latest of hundreds of reported arrests since the ousted Iraqi dictator's detention. Working on what the top American general said was information gleaned when Saddam was captured on December 13, troops have rounded up suspected insurgents in swoops on mainly Sunni Muslim towns north and west of Baghdad.
